Split among thugs threatens spreading violence

The murder of Daniel Richard Wolfe in theSaskatchewan Penitentiary where he was serving a life sentence for killing two people in a home invasion has police worried a split in the notorious Indian Posse street gang, which Wolfe helped found, might spread. A rivalry between imprisoned members of the gang from Manitoba and Saskatchewan was reportedly behind the brawl in which Wolfe was fatally stabbed and another posse member was left in critical condition. The bloody fight behind bars might not remain there: the Indian Posse is a large, complex organization, according to some reports the biggest street gang in Canada, and has spread across the prairies and even into Northern Ontario and British Columbia.
